For boutique leisure andfarming property of approx. 2000ac in the Oberon area of NSW. We are a family run propertywhich operates boutique small mixed farming and has extensive informal gardenswith beautiful buildings and facilities. We take great pride in ourlovely property and are looking for a suitably experienced person who willappreciate our passion and take responsibility primarily for the management andcare of our horses, but also our chickens and pigs. You must be an experiencedhorse person with a willingness to assist the Farm Manager and small team inother areas of the property and farm as necessary. You must be willing and ableto report to the owners on a daily basis via email and phone. Duties and Responsibilities · Day to day careof Shire breed heavy-horses, and riding ponies · Day to day careof our boutique rare breed chickens · Day to day careof our boutique rare breed pigs · Day to day firstaid as necessary for horses, chickens and pigs · Liaising andassisting vet, farrier, dentist · Assist the smallteam with other property and farm duties as required · Ensure a cleanand safe environment of grounds and facilities · WH& S · Working under theoverall management of the Farm Manager · Precise reportingto the owners, verbal, text and email Options to further expand Duties and Responsibilitiessubject to experience · Breeding of Shirehorses, including hand-serving of stallion and mares · Foaling down · Foal and yearlinghandling · Ground work foryoung and green horses · Ongoing horseeducation consisting of ground work and handling of heavy-horses · Further horseeducation of pulling implements and vehicles for heavy-horses · Maintenance anduse of harness, vehicles and equipment Skills and Experience · The role is handson and requires initiative and self-motivation · Extensive horseknowledge · Previousexperience with heavy-horse handling an advantage · Previousexperience with pigs/chickens an advantage · Veterinary and/orfarm animal first aid · High level ofattention to detail and time management skills · Reasonablecomputer skills (MS Outlook/Word/XL) · Current driverslicence.
