Job Description The Government Relations, Director will be responsible for establishing a positive, credible, and influential presence for Tilray in Australia and New Zealand with state and federal government entities and leading discussions with officials on legislative and regulatory developments. The Director will have a thorough understanding of state laws and regulations as they pertain to the scheduling, legalization and commercialization of both prescription and non - prescription cannabis products. With this knowledge the Director will be a strong advocate who influence legislative and regulatory work to ensure an FDA - approved cannabis product can be dispensed for patients. Responsibilities Identify, build plans and execute in response to, business challenges from legislative and regulatory lobbying strategies before state governments. Acts as a liaison to both state and federal based government, trade and political organizations. Build a long - term, relationship - based advocacy able to influence on critical issues policy or business. Foster a productive relationship between Tilray senior management and elected officials and organize briefings, meetings and other interactions with government officials to build positive relationships prior to and throughout market introduction. Pursue necessary administrative actions or legislation to ensure a TGA - approved cannabis product can be dispensed for appropriate patients. Listen and understand external market concerns and actively communicate to internal business leaders. Identify and monitor operational issues that may benefit from legislative/regulatory action. Build out political engagement plan in strategic markets (state and federal), including relationship development with Governors, Legislative leadership, Medicare universal health care (public) and private providers (insurance). The Successful Applicant You will be a highly driven and experienced Government Relations professional with an aptitude and passion for building a long - term, relationship - based advocacy.
