About the role By joining the UserCentric Network, you will be a junior developer looking to make the shift from a full-time role into the benefits of independent contracting, but with the training, development, mentoring and technical support that comes from a top tier consultancy. UserCentric will offer a place with one of our partner clients, usually a medium or large enterprise who is looking to build their digital scrum teams. We then help to build your personal development plan to build your skills and market value, including Weekly mentoring sessions with an experienced CTO-level developer to help guide your career ambitions Slack channel providing technical help and support where you need expert advice A tailored development plan spanning 2 years to take you from junior to mid-level developer Regular face-to-face training sessions, including workshops with industry speakers Access to professional and social networking events with our broader consulting network to open up new career opportunities for you Help with setting up your independent business (as a Pty Ltd or sole trader) Ongoing placement support at the conclusion of your client project. As a contractor, you will be reporting day to day into the client s project manager or technical lead. The skillsets required from our clients will vary from project to project, however we generally look to take on junior developers with some background in the following. Desirable Technical Skills (not mandatory) Node.js with technical coding abilities with modern ES6 & ES7 Javascript Express with an understanding of REST API conventions Next.js with an understanding of SSR React.js or other modern front-end frameworks, such as Vue.js or Angular An understanding of relational and/or NoSQL database design Familiarity in using the Git, JIRA, Trello, etc.
