About the Position Industrial Designer Woolworths The Woolworths design team are responsible for the look and feel of Woolworths Supermarkets, designing fixtures, fittings, furniture and the interior look & feel. We are about to embark on the next generation of concept and are in search for a Mid - Senior Industrial designer with professional experience designing for a fast - paced environment. You will see your designs come to life and be involved from the ground up, conceptualising designs and working with our supplier base to manufacture from your detailed drawings. The Format Development team are behind the customer experience and touchpoints in - store, exceeding customer expectations at every opportunity. The Format Design team develops highly commercial, creative design and merchandising solutions together with integrated Point of Sale and small interior projects for Woolworths Supermarkets. About your new role A key member of the Format Design team, you will take on individual design briefs in consultation with the National Format Design Manager and/or Format Development Managers. You will communicate ideas and concepts through clear and effective methods using 2D and 3D design and through the use of software or freehand sketching as appropriate. You will be responsible for and manage your allocated design briefs, taking each project from concept to full production drawings. To deliver each project you will work closely with internal stakeholders and engage local and overseas suppliers in translating designs through a process to documentation so that the equipment purchasing and procurement teams can tender projects both locally and overseas. You will naturally be an exceptional communicator, managing both internal stakeholder expectations and external supplier/contractor relationships effortlessly and for positive outcomes. You have strong drive and enthusiasm, taking initiative and working collaboratively. Hopefully you re also passionate about retail or willing to open your mind to the possibilities in this space. You ll have proven experience successfully managing multiple design projects from concept to completion. Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial design, this role is not suitable for graduates Undergraduate degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design or similar Current driver s licence and car as travel to suppliers and sites will be required Exceptional Sketching ability to communicate designs during briefing meetings Develop Conceptual Design in 3ds Max, Solidworks Knowledge of Creating Revit families Professional ability in using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop / Illustrator and InDesign) Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials Only apply with a PDF including a portfolio speaking to examples of graphic design ability, freehand sketching, 3D rendering and modelling and technical drawing (in Solidworks/Inventor), the PDF should also include your CV.
