Job Description for Registered Midwives The tasks involved in working as a Registered Midwife include Examining and aiding pregnant women Writing care plan reports and checking care requirements Going through antenatal care, wherever required (Hospitals, homes, GP practices) Conducting screening tests Being empathetic to woman and their partners by providing social support, maintaining emotional stability, and giving reassurance Taking samples from patients and measuring pulses, temperature, and blood pressure Supporting and assisting women in labour The administration of medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labour Examining the fetus during labour Giving advice and support to parents with newborn babies Teaching parents how to cope and deal with miscarriage, termination, still death, and neonatal death Writing records Teaching other student midwives no - Principals only.
